Barking Owl (Ninoxconnivens)

The Barking Owl is named for its distinctive barking call. They are most common in open woodlands and are widely distributed throughout Australia, except central areas.

Habitat loss is a major threat to the Barking Owl. Secondary agricultural poisoning, barbed wire fences and vehicle collisions have also contributed to their mortality.
