Yanchep Rose (Diplolaena angustifolia)
The Yanchep Rose is a shrub endemic to WA, occurring naturally in the Avon Wheatbelt, Geraldton Sandplains and the Swan Coastal Plain regions. Its unusual flower is made up of large brushes of stamens encompassed by petal-like bracts.
This artwork features the intense red of the flower when it’s newly opened, before turning orange in full bloom.
